From City To The Country Life

I was born in Red Hook Brooklyn… Always lived in the hustle of the city… I’ve done a lot business wise, and schoolasticly…Now that I’m in North Carolina; the air and the peace has won me. To some it’s slow and boring. I felt that way for a long time nothing has changed… Yet I like it! And when I need a touch of the city it’s a short drive away.

The City that gets no break

Those of us that live in New York City have learned how the cost of transportation will affect the Burroughs and surrounding counties. Long Island and Metro North rider’s fares will also go up. There will be a payroll tax shared and of course the New York City Subway fare will increase. I pause to note that in 2011 and 2013 there will be a 7% increase each of those years as include in the budget.
It is said we live in the greatest city in the world, the Mecca of business and finance. It cost money to run the vast services and civic amenities. However, salary increases seems to be a thing of the past for many. Hundreds have lost their jobs and medical benefits. We are seeing car manufactures offer to pay car notes due to job loss. Property taxes are going up, and people are losing their homes.
Is there someone in New York City government that has a better idea other than increasing the burden on the people that are already hurting??
